Resident Evil 5 Movie

Resident Evil 5 MovieThe movie Resident Evil 5 hasn't been officially announced yet. But the after credits scene of Resident Evil Afterlife left wide open the possibility of a new Resident Evil sequel. Indeed at the end of the RE4 movie, there's a swarm of helicopters from Umbrella, and Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), on whose chest a mind-control spider is glowing, is Umbrella's commanding officer for the operation.

Resident Evil 4 After Credits Scene

I was surprised by this ending. I heard indeed that the Resident Evil movie franchise was going to be rebooted: according to the rumor the studios execs aren't that satisfied with the fat paychecks of Director Paul W.S. Anderson and Actress Milla Jovovich, and are tempted to reboot Resident Evil with a new (and less well-paid) team.

But during last comic con, Director Paul W.S Anderson did hint at a potential Resident Evil 5 movie if Afterlife was successful. He even revealed that Leon S. Kennedy, the super cop from the Resident Evil game, is quite likely to show up in Resident Evil 5!

Well we should get more news about what's next for the Resident Evil movie franchise soon. Hoping here that they don't reboot the series, and that they will go ahead with the movie Resident Evil 5. What do you think?
:)

Update 1 - Actress Milla Jovovich confirms that they're going to develop the movie Resident Evil 5:

[Resident Evil 4] is the first one to ever open at number one worldwide. It's the biggest movie in the franchise. So we're definitely going to make another one. We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."

You heard the lady: tell her what you'd like to see in the movie Resident Evil 4!
